Principal's message

Georges River College Penshurst Girls Campus is a school where quality teaching and learning thrives.  Our teachers are passionate and enthusiastic. They are dedicated to girls' education in a middle school context.

GRC Penshurst Girls Campus has a reputation for excellence in teaching, learning and student achievement. We are a school of first choice in our community. At our school girls have the opportunity to learn in a caring, structured and supportive environment that caters to the specific needs of girls, and particularly to the needs of girls in the middle school.

This is a unique environment where girls are supported to take risks as learners, to see how high they can achieve and to see how far they can grow. Like the tree that symbolises our College, our students are supported to grow, to branch out, and to aim and reach high.

We are an inclusive and caring school community. At GRC Penshurst Girls Campus we have high standards and high expectations. We support each individual girl to ensure she can be the best she can be. Our teachers are university trained and engage in ongoing professional learning to continue to develop their teaching practice to ensure our students are engaged and excited about their learning.  Our teachers are committed to the education and well-being of the students in their care.

Our students graduate Year 10 in a unique and unrivalled position. Our students have the opportunity to transition to our Senior Campus at Oatley where they have the choice of an amazing array and breadth of subjects and the ability to pick a tailored senior pathway that is designed just for them.

Our school prides itself on its positive culture of challenge and support, enabling effective teaching that promotes enthusiastic, independent learners dedicated to lifelong learning. The teaching staff are committed to the learning and growth of young people guided by fairness, ethical practice, democratic values and lifelong learning. We work in partnership with our community to decide how to best meet student needs.

The opportunities available to students at our school are broad and dynamic. Students have the opportunity to be involved in Student Leadership, International Cultural Exchanges, Gifted and Talented Programs, Sport, Debating as well as cross Campus opportunities in the Creative and Performing Arts. These are to name but a few.

Our school's legacy continues to live on in the work of the Penshurst Girls Union. These graduates are proud of their school and uphold its traditions. These women are role models and mentors to our current students and enrich our school community. Our school is an integral part of our community. Our school has been successfully educating young women for 60 years and this work is celebrated in our school museum.

Georges River College Penshurst Girls Campus is a dynamic learning community where girls come first. We have a tradition of academic excellence and strong student support structures to ensure the individual learning needs of every girl are met. Our students graduate with the skills and knowledge they need to be successful in an ever changing world. We create a climate of student success to ensure our students graduate empowered and equipped with the necessary 21stCentury learning skills that will propel them into success in the senior school and beyond.
